What is Time of Use (TOU) pricing?

We're introducing a smarter method of pricing to help you take advantage of lower EV charging rates when available. This means you pay a different price to charge up your EV depending on the time of day. At bp pulse, this is split into peak, off-peak, and super off-peak periods of the day.

Frequently Asked Questions

Since its inception, bp pulse has been committed to delivering fast, reliable and convenient charging to EV drivers across the globe. We’re rapidly expanding our network of ultra-fast chargers across the US – and our latest announcements with Simon® and LAZ Parking are just two examples of our continued focus on delivering charging infrastructure in the locations customers want and need.

As we build out our network of fast, convenient, and reliable EV charging, we’re making some exciting changes to ensure this continues far into the future. This will include upgrading key locations with new hardware, while potentially removing chargers from others.

We want to provide a great charging experience for EV drivers, while creating opportunities for growth and improvement across our network. This includes regularly reviewing the equipment offered at our sites to ensure the speed and quality we want customers to experience.

bp pulse works with several vetted and preferred charging hardware suppliers, offering a range of high-speed equipment to support nearly every make and model of EV on the market today.

Our team of experts have evaluated each site to determine the best course of action to ensure we are providing EV drivers with the best experience. This process will involve removing chargers with low utilization so we can focus on upgrading sites that are better servicing our customer base.

We have already begun the process of switching off selected chargers on our network. To stay up to date with the latest chargers and sites available, please always check the bp pulse map or app before traveling.

The changes will impact bp pulse sites across California and Washington.

You can find the most up-to-date information on each of our charging sites by checking the bp pulse map or our mobile app before traveling.

We remain committed to our strategy of building a national EV charging network. As a long-term infrastructure player with a global network of EV charging solutions, bp pulse intends to continue building transformative industry collaborations to scale our network and match the demand of current and future EV drivers.

Our latest blog by Mat Cranley, Network & Asset Director, provides more context on our long-term plans for network growth in the US.
